As team trainer for the Chappaqua Monarchs (a U10Boys travel team in CYSC), Alex's focus on skills development through various drills and his emphasis on conditioning resulted in an undefeated Fall 2005 season. He understands all aspects of the game and the team's success is the direct result of his dedication to constantly trying to improve the skills our players.
As my daughter Andrea's travel soccer team coach and off-season personal trainer, Alex always pushed her to achieve her absolute best. He expected hard work from her, and he got it because of his knowledge of the sport and his professionalism.
I have known Hernan “Alex” Sanchez for many years, and numerous organizations with whom I have been involved have used him as a Coach/Trainer. Alex has had great success in coaching competitive travel soccer (boys and girls) and his coaching and training abilities are well respected. He has coached Division 1 winners and has transformed “winless” teams into division champions. He brings a structured and disciplined approach to each team and has a keen understanding of how to relate to the players in each squad.
Alex places great emphasis on fitness, conditioning and nutrition. His own work ethic (I have never known him to miss a practice or game) will, hopefully, bring him continuing success as a coach and trainer. A better benchmark of his coaching abilities is probably best echoed by the children he has coached. Season after season, the players ask “Is Alex coming back” and those who have moved on to High School sports are often heard to say “We miss Hernan!”
For the 2004 and 2005 soccer seasons, Alex Sanchez has been a splendid soccer coach for the Raptors, our U14 Boys Travel team in Armonk, New York. Alex has always provided our players expert coaching and mentoring. My wife and I hired Alex subsequently to train our 13 year old son and it was a very positive experience.
